What is a Brow Lift?

Unwanted and unsightly wrinkles and lines will appear on your face as you age. When this happens, many people wish they could do something to reverse these signs of aging on their face.

The good news is getting a brow lift can solve these problems in one surgery. A brow lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that fixes sagging skin on the forehead near the eyebrows and upper eyelids. This procedure is also commonly called a forehead lift.

A brow lift is usually done to correct the appearance of wrinkle lines on the forehead, frown lines and sagging eyebrows. Making these small changes to your forehead and brow line can make you look several years younger.

A brow lift can be performed on virtually any healthy adult. If you do not have any serious illnesses that will make the surgery risky, then you will be able to get a procedure. Smokers will most likely be forced to stop smoking for several weeks leading up to the brow lift to ensure that they are able to heal properly.

During a typical brow lift procedure, the forehead skin is smoothed out and lifted to achieve your desired look. A brow lift also reduces the appearance of scowl lines between the brows. The end goal is to make the patient look more rejuvenated, youthful and awake.

The entire procedure may take approximately two hours, and you will be able to go home the same day. Since you will be placed under anesthesia prior to the surgery, you may need someone to drive you home from the operation.

The healing process should take about two weeks. You will be able to return to work and normal activity after this time. The full recovery time for a brow lift may take months. It will take some time to finally see your new beautiful skin, but it will be well worth it once you are fully recovered and able to enjoy your refreshed look.
