Scheduling Your Facial Surgery Consultation & Care
Arranging Your Initial Consultation
The first and most important step in your cosmetic journey is to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Kaniff.- Personalized Discussion: This is your opportunity to discuss your aesthetic concerns, review your medical history, and get all your questions answered.
- Visualize Results: We utilize state-of-the-art computer imaging to help you plan and visualize your potential surgical results.
- Surgery Scheduling: Following your consultation, our team will assist you in booking your surgery for a time that conveniently fits your work, school, or personal schedule.
Preparation for Your Cosmetic Surgery
Achieving a positive experience and a speedy recovery requires both mental and physical preparation. Our goal is to make this process as thorough and convenient as possible.Physical & Pre-Operative Requirements
To ensure you are in the best physical condition, Dr. Kaniff and his professional staff will provide:- Detailed Instructions: Comprehensive before and after procedure instructions.
- Supplies & Prescriptions: A list of necessary recovery supplies and prescriptions.
- Mandatory Pre-Operative Testing: Depending on your procedure, you will need to schedule standard pre-operative lab work, such as blood tests and an electrocardiogram (EKG).
- Specialist Referrals: Be advised that Dr. Kaniff may refer you to other medical specialists if your case requires additional medical clearance.
Mental Preparation & Support
Mental readiness is crucial for a smooth recovery.- Reduce Stress: Understanding the procedure and what to expect is essential; be sure to ask all questions during your consultation.
- Arrange Support: The support of family and friends is vital. Please plan for an adult caregiver to assist you during the immediate recovery period.
Post-Operative Care & Follow-Up
Your recovery and long-term results are our top priority.- Day-After Visit: You will be asked to return to the office the day after your surgery for dressing removal, a check for proper healing, and a detailed review of all post-operative instructions.
- Follow-Up Scheduling: A standard follow-up visit will be scheduled for approximately one week after surgery, or sooner if needed.
- Rapid Recovery: With strict adherence to your post-operative instructions, most patients are able to return to work and social activities in days, rather than weeks.
Local Accommodations & Caregiver Requirements
Out-of-Town Patients & Accommodations
We highly recommend that patients traveling to Sacramento consider local accommodations both before and after surgery. Staying local helps you avoid traffic on the morning of surgery and ensures convenience for your mandatory day-after post-operative visit. We are happy to assist you with making these arrangements.Required Post-Anesthesia Caregiver
For your safety, all patients who have been administered anesthesia—whether recovering at home or in a hotel—are required to have an adult stay with them to provide care and drive them to and from the office appointments.- Need a Caregiver? If you require assistance arranging a professional caregiver, please contact our office. We can connect you with local companies specializing in postoperative care.
