Mini Facelift incisions are hidden in the natural curves around the front of the ear and the hair above the ear. Through these incisions the deeper layers of the cheek and jowl are identified and mobilized, often using a deep plane technique. These deeper tissues are elevated to a more youthful, natural position and secured using sutures. Excess skin is excised and the incisions meticulously closed.

Patients report surprisingly little pain after a mini facelift, describing feelings of mild swelling and tightness, but prescribed pain medication are available to help with any discomfort.

The downtime for a mini facelift is about 10 days and includes no bending, lifting or straining for two weeks, allowing the tissues to heal in their proper position. After two weeks physical activity can gradually be resumed. Most patients start driving and return to work in 7-10 days.
