What is the Procedure Like?
Before performing the operation, X-rays of the face and chin will likely be taken. That will help our team decide if all that’s needed is an implant, or if the bones need to be reshaped.
If the patient just needs an implant, a pocket is created to hold the implant under the muscles in front of the chin bone. After placing the implant in the pocket, special tools are used to hold it in place. If bone needs to be restructured, another tool will be used on the patient’s jawbones.
